Why businesses move from Booksy

Booksy is a full salon tool, with card readers, free text reminders and Boost to bring in new clients. If you mostly need a page where clients book and pay, the monthly fee is what to weigh.

No monthly fee

Booksy charges $29.99 every month, busy or quiet. On Payly, a quiet month costs nothing, and a busy one costs only PayPal's or Stripe's fees.

Payments into your own account

Booksy processes card payments itself, at its own rates. Payly sends each payment straight to your own PayPal or Stripe account.

No commission

Booksy's Boost, if you turn it on, takes 30% of a Boost client's first visit, up to $100. Payly has no marketplace and takes no commission.

More from the same dashboard

Payly also makes online stores, payment forms, event tickets and tip jars, all free, from the same account.

Honest answers

Is Payly really free?

Yes. There is no monthly fee, no transaction fee and no paid tier. PayPal and Stripe charge their standard processing fees on paid bookings, as they would on any platform. How can this possibly be free?

Is Booksy free?

No. After a 14-day free trial, Booksy costs $29.99 a month plus tax, and $20 a month for each extra team member. Boost is free to turn on, then takes 30% of a Boost client's first visit, up to $100.

Is Booksy's card rate lower?

Yes. Booksy charges 2.69% + 30 cents for mobile and keyed-in payments, and Stripe 2.9% + 30 cents: $1.65 against $1.75 on a $50 booking. Booksy's $29.99 monthly fee outweighs that until about 286 bookings of $50 a month.

What does Booksy do that Payly does not?

Booksy can bring you new clients through Boost. It takes in-person payments with card readers, and has no-show protection, a waitlist, memberships and packages. Its text reminders are free. Payly's booking pages have none of these.

How do I move from Booksy to Payly?

Payly has no importer for Booksy. Make a booking page from a template, add your services and hours, and connect PayPal or Stripe. Then share the new link or add it to your website. Bookings already made stay in Booksy.
