How can a hair stylist take online bookings for free?

Choose a booking tool that gives each service its own length, so a color appointment blocks more time than a haircut. It should also keep a gap between clients, block the times you are busy, and email reminders. Check what it charges each month. Payly does all of this with no monthly fee. If clients pay when they book, PayPal or Stripe charges its standard processing fee, and Payly adds none.

Give a haircut, a beard trim and a color appointment their own price and length: 15 to 90 minutes, or a custom length up to 12 hours. Each service shows its price on your page.

Time to reset between clients

Offer start times every 15 minutes, keep a gap before and after each booking, and set a daily limit. Minimum notice stops last-minute bookings you cannot fit.

Clients rebook without a call

Confirmation and reminder emails end with Change time and Cancel links. Set a cutoff such as 24 hours, and a canceled time opens up again for the next client.

Start from the Haircut template

In Your sites, click New, choose Calendar Bookings, then Haircut. You get a haircut, a haircut and beard trim, a beard trim and a color service, with times every 15 minutes.
Set lengths, prices and hours

Edit each service, then set your weekly hours, days off and a gap between clients. The template already asks each client for a phone number and notes.
Connect your accounts and publish

Connect Google Calendar so your busy times are blocked. To charge at booking, connect PayPal or Stripe. Then share the link or add it to your website.

How can this possibly be free?

Honest answers

Can I take a deposit for a color appointment?

No. Deposits are not supported. A service is free, or the client pays its full price when they book. If you charge up front, you decide whether to refund a canceled booking, because payments are not refunded automatically.

Can clients cancel or change their time themselves?

Yes, up to a cutoff you set, such as 24 hours before. Their confirmation email has Change time and Cancel links. After the cutoff, the page asks them to reply to that email to reach you.

Do clients get a text message reminder?

No. Text-message reminders are not supported. Clients get a confirmation and a reminder by email. You choose how long before, from 1 hour to a week, and it is 24 hours at first.

Can a salon with several stylists share one booking page?

No. Team scheduling is not supported, and one booking page has one set of weekly hours. A salon can make a booking page for each stylist. Google Calendar connects once for your whole account, and every booking page checks the same calendars.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no monthly fee, no transaction fee and no paid tier. PayPal and Stripe charge their standard processing fees on each payment, as they would on any platform. How can this possibly be free?
