How can our team raise money online without paying platform fees?

Put one donation page behind a clear goal, such as tournament travel or new uniforms, and share it where your supporters already are: the team chat, social posts and a printed QR code. Show a progress bar so people see how close you are. Pick a tool that sends gifts straight to your own PayPal or Stripe account, and read what fees it adds. Payly adds no fee of its own.

Why Payly

A bar the whole roster can watch

Type the amount the season needs. Supporters see the bar fill, with the amount raised and, if you switch it on, the number of donors. Pick a start date, and next season starts at zero.

See which player a gift is for

Add a drop-down such as Which player are you supporting? The Summary screen shows a bar for each name. The Fundraising goal template also asks how donors heard about you, so you see which posts and flyers worked.

Gifts go to your own account

Connect the PayPal or Stripe account your team uses. Gifts go straight there, and Payly never holds them. You get an email for each new payment, and each donor gets a receipt.

How a team fundraiser works in Payly

You set the goal and the amounts. Teammates share the link, and PayPal or Stripe collects each gift.

  1. Start from Fundraising goal

In Your sites, click New, choose Donation form and pick Fundraising goal. Replace the sample wording and photo with your team's, then type your goal in Settings.

  2. Add amounts and a question

Set suggested amounts with a line on what each pays for, such as a court rental. Add a drop-down for which player a gift supports.

  3. Connect, publish and share

Connect PayPal or Stripe, then publish. Your form runs on your own free Cloudflare account. Post the link in the team chat, or print the QR code on a flyer.

What you get

  • A goal bar with the amount raised and, if you want, the number of donors
  • A start date, so a new season starts at zero
  • Suggested amounts, each with a line on what it pays for
  • Any question you need, such as which player a gift supports
  • Monthly gifts, counted each time they are paid
  • A box donors can tick to cover the processing fee
  • A link to share and a QR code to print

Honest answers

Can each player have their own fundraising page?

No. Fundraising pages for supporters to share are not supported. Your team has one form. Ask which player a gift supports, then download the table as a CSV file and add up each player's gifts in a spreadsheet.

Can I add cash from a car wash to the bar?

No. The bar counts only gifts paid on your form. You cannot add gifts taken another way, such as cash, so keep a separate count for those.

Can supporters pledge a set number of monthly gifts?

Not as a set number. A monthly gift is charged every month until it is cancelled, and a donation form has no setting for a set number of payments. You can cancel a gift from the Recurring screen when the season ends.

Will my test gifts show on the bar?

Yes, gifts paid in test mode count toward the bar too. On the day you open your form to donors, pick that day in Count gifts from and publish again. The bar then leaves the test gifts out.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no monthly fee, no transaction fee and no paid tier. PayPal and Stripe charge their standard processing fees on each payment, as they would on any platform. How can this possibly be free?
